Monleras Work Camp - 2º turn [Days 6 and 7]

Hello! After the weekend the volunteers were a bit tired, but we combined relaxing activities with more active ones to make them WAKE UP!! In the morning we are continuing with the work. The main work is being rendering the outside walls and now we have started with the floor too. There are other groups who are coming to the village some days to do some cleaning jobs to get everything ready for the fair which will take place next Sunday, and there is also a group painting the mural at the cultural centre.

On Monday afternoon we carried out a project researching different jobs of the people from the village and getting some conclusions about their present and future. At night we played a game with the children in which they had to look for different questions hidden in the village and thanks to an aerial map. On Tuesday afternoon we relaxed by going to the swimming pool in Sardón de los Frailes, a nearby village, and at night we watched a video at the Interpretation Centre about life in a rural area like Monleras. Hoola! Tras el fin de semana los voluntarios estaban un poco cansados, pero combinamos actividades más relajadas con otras más activas para hacer que se despierten. Por la mañana estamos siguiendo con el trabajo en el cernidero. El principal trabajo está siendo enfoscar las paredes exteriores y ahora también hemos empezado con el suelo. Hay otros grupos que están viniendo al pueblo algunos días para realizar tareas de limpieza para preparar todo para la feria que tendrá lugar este domingo, y también está un grupo pintando el mural del centro cultural.

El lunes por la tarde realizamos un proyecto para investigar diferentes profesiones de la gente del pueblo y sacar conclusiones sobre su presente y futuro aquí. Por la noche hicimos un juego con los chavales del pueblo en el que tenían que buscar unas preguntas escondidas por el pueblo y con un mapa aéreo. El martes por la tarde nos relajamos yendo a la piscina de Sardón de los Frailes, un pueblo cercano, y por la noche vimos un vídeo en el centro de interpretación sobre la vida en una zona rural como Monleras.
